HopeTether System Terms & Conditions

Version 1.0 · Effective 17 July 2026

These terms explain how HopeTether System works and the responsibilities that come with registering and managing a HopeTether Identity.

Please read this document before joining HopeTether System. By creating an account and activating an Identity, you confirm that you understand and accept these terms.

1. HopeTether System

HopeTether System provides a permanent digital identity record designed to help a Finder quickly access the information needed to contact the person responsible for an animal. The physical HTS tag is the access point to that Identity.

2. Permanent Identity

Each HopeTether Identity receives a unique HTS number. An HTS number is not reused, recycled or reassigned to another animal. The status of an Identity may change over time, but the Identity record and its number remain part of HopeTether System.

3. Your authority and responsibility

You confirm that you are authorised to register and manage the animal connected to the Identity. You are responsible for providing accurate information and for keeping the Finder contact details, medical alerts and other relevant information up to date.

4. Information shown to a Finder

You choose and provide the information displayed when the tag is scanned. This may include the animal’s name, photograph, telephone number and medical or allergy alert. You should only enter information that is necessary and appropriate for helping a Finder respond safely and quickly.

5. Identity history and System records

HopeTether System records important events connected to an Identity, including activation and accepted System terms. Some records are retained to preserve continuity, security and the integrity of the permanent Identity. Where information can be corrected or updated, the System may retain an audit record of the change.

6. The Finder pathway

HopeTether System is designed to reduce the difficulty faced by a person who finds an animal. It provides a fast route to the information supplied by the owner, but it cannot guarantee that a lost animal will be found, scanned, safely handled or returned.

7. Physical tag

You are responsible for attaching the HTS tag securely, checking that it remains readable and replacing damaged or lost physical tags through the process offered by HopeTether System. The permanent HTS Identity is separate from the physical carrier used to access it.

8. Account security

You must protect your HopeTether System login details and notify HopeTether if you believe another person has accessed your account. You must not attempt to access or alter an Identity that you are not authorised to manage.

9. Appropriate use

You must not use HopeTether System for unlawful, fraudulent, abusive or misleading purposes. HopeTether may restrict access when necessary to protect people, animals, identities, data or the integrity of the System.

10. Availability and maintenance

HopeTether aims to keep the System reliable and available. Temporary interruption may occur because of maintenance, security work, technical faults or circumstances outside reasonable control.

11. Changes to these terms

HopeTether may issue a new version of these terms when the System, law or operating requirements change. When a new acceptance is required, the System will present the updated version clearly before the relevant action can continue.

12. Contact and legal information

The final business identity, contact address, privacy information, governing law and formal legal notices will be published here before HopeTether System opens to paying customers.

Pre-launch legal review required. This operational draft defines the intended System behaviour. It must be reviewed and completed with the final company and privacy details before commercial launch.
